Shaheed withdraws from High Court judgeship

Mohamed Shaheed, a senior activist at the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC), who up until recently, held the post of deputy minister at the Homeland Security Ministry, has withdrawn his candidacy for judgeship at the High Court following public backlash and also a court case challenging his appointment.
